Hello,

I’m Fi Starr, a London-based artist and educator. In 2025, I was selected as a finalist for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and subsequently commissioned by the brand NEFF to paint a piano for a live event, which was then donated to the charity Centre Point. This marked an exciting milestone within my evolving practice.

I create work that explores the quiet emotional connection we form with everyday objects, places and spaces. Through simplified paintings and expressive use of colour, I create joyful yet contemplative works that sit somewhere between abstraction and familiarity.

I am inspired by domestic rituals, gathered forms and modern interiors, and my paintings often feature bold vessels, architectural elements, curated objects, flora and fauna arranged as carefully balanced compositions. A lot of my work centres around the idea of what makes a home, home. I explore the objects we surround ourselves with and the stories and comfort they hold.

Growing up in London, alongside a love of travel and a previous career as an Interior Stylist, has hugely shaped my visual language and way of seeing the world. I work intuitively, combining strong shapes and vibrant palettes to create paintings that feel both contemporary and nostalgic.
